After all matches in a stage are finished, you can complete the stage to lock results and advance qualifying teams to the next round.

Before You Can Complete

The system checks every group (or pairing) in the stage. A stage can only be completed when there are no blocking matches — meaning no matches with a status of Scheduled or In Progress. Each group falls into one of four states:
  • Completed — all matches are finished with results uploaded. Ready to go.
  • Has Cancelled — some matches were cancelled, but no scheduled or in-progress matches remain. The stage can still be completed — cancelled matches just don’t count toward standings.
  • No Matches — the group has no matches created at all. This won’t block completion.
  • Incomplete — there are still scheduled or in-progress matches. This blocks stage completion. You must either upload results and complete them, or cancel them first.
If any matches are in progress with results already uploaded, the system can auto-complete them for you during the completion flow.

The Completion Flow

  1. Navigate to the stage and select Complete Stage
  2. You’ll see the status of every group — which are ready, which have issues
  3. If there are completable matches (in progress with results), you can bulk-complete them
  4. Review the qualifiers preview:
    • Elimination stages — shows who qualifies from each group based on the qualifiers-per-group setting from the roadmap. You can edit qualifier counts per group if needed (e.g., redistribute slots from cancelled groups).
    • Round Robin stages — shows the combined leaderboard across all pairings. You can edit the total number of qualifiers.
    • Final stage — shows winners based on standings. You can override winner selections if needed.
  5. Click Complete to finalize

What Happens After Completion

When you complete a stage:
  • Results and standings are locked for that stage
  • Qualifying teams are automatically registered into the next stage (if there is one)
  • The next stage becomes active
  • If it’s the final stage, the tournament is marked as completed

Cancelled Groups

If a group has all its matches cancelled, no teams qualify from that group. You can redistribute those freed-up qualifier slots to other groups using the Edit Qualifiers option before completing.
